Storm is looking for a results-driven, highly motivated, and experienced Commercial Sales Associate to actively seek out and engage customer prospects in Lanark County. Reporting to Storm’s Vice President, Sales & Business Development, the successful candidate will be based out of Storm’s Perth, Ontario office. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in sales, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with customers. They will be responsible for new business development and for account management of existing accounts, as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships;
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, including prospecting, negotiating, closing sales opportunities and meeting sales targets;
  • Identify and pursue new commercial sales opportunities, i.e. reach out to customers through cold calling, and, present, promote and sell products/services using solid argument to existing and prospective customers;
  • Preform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs;
  • Expedite the resolution of problems and complaints in order to maximize customer satisfaction;
  • As required, coordinate sales efforts with team members and other internal departments;
  • Analyze the territory/market potential, track sales and status reports, and as required, supply Vice President, Sales & Business
  • Development with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, potential for new products, service offerings and technical solutions;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute effective sales campaigns, including video advertisements, etc.;
  • Keep abreast of best practices, industry product/service developments and promotional trends;
  • At minimum, achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule; and
  • Represent Storm at trade shows and local events, i.e. Perth Fair, South Mountain Fair and Kemptville Live, etc. to promote our services and connect with potential customers.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum three (3) years of proven experience in commercial sales, ideally in the telecommunications or technology sector;
  • Proven and effective interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers, potential customers, local businesses, and community organizations, along withy the ability to adapt communication styles to connect with a diverse range of customers;
  • Ability to identify and understand customer needs and provide solutions;
  • Knowledge of the Lanark County area, including its demographics, businesses, and community events;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google products, as well as customer relationship management software (CRM), i.e. sales tracking, communication, etc.;
  • Possess a high level of self-motivation and drive to succeed;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to collaboratively work with team members, such as marketing, customer support, and technical teams in order to meet customer needs effectively;
  • Possess a solid understanding of internet technologies and services offered by Storm, coupled with the ability to stay updated on new products, industry trends, competitor activities, and sales techniques through training, workshops, and self-study;
  • Exemplary customer service, time management and organizational skills;
  • Comfortable delivering presentations to small/medium audiences;
  • Possess a high level of integrity, honesty, work ethic and attention to detail;
  • Ability to maintain a positive persistence and resilient attitude; and
  • Valid class G provincial driver’s license and a satisfactory driver’s abstract;

  • Monday to Friday

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 annually, depending on experience, plus commissions, and includes participation in Storm’s extensive corporate group benefits program. The position also includes car and cellular telephone allowances.
